Let’s trade and release music together punks!

and reply or email label suggestions to: powernegi@live.co.uk

thanks, keep it punk

I’m about all out of the Beau Navire/Carrion Spring/Te Lloraria Un Puto Rio/Discord of a Forgotten Sketch split 4-way 8”. I’ve got 8 copies left, and when they’re gone…they’re gone.

I’m also running low on the Beau Navire/Suffix splits, though a repress is in the works.

On a final note, some of the Suffix folks are now jamming in the band, Lord Snow. Definitely, check them out: http://lordsnow.net

FEB-018: Let it Die {demo} cassette

Let it Die rises from the ashes You Suck!, and play ruthless hardcore/punk in the vein of the Swarm and Cursed (I also hear a little Ottawa at times). Keeps your eyes peeled for a new record in 2012 on Southern Lord.

The Let it Die tapes just came in today. I just have to make some inserts. I should have them up for sale this weekend. Unfortunately, since this is extremely limited I won’t be able to do any trades or wholesale to distros. Sorry, but i literally have only a handful of these bad boys.

90’s Nostalgia (Vid: Reversal of Man @ SRQ Fest ‘99)

Back in the waning days of of the late 90’s me and a few friends decided to put together a punk festival in the sleepy little town of Bradenton, FL. At the time, Tampa (45 minutes North of us) was a huge epicenter for punk rock activity, but we always felt like an ugly stepchild who didn’t really fit in with that scene and we really wanted to do our own thing. After attending the More than Music Festival in 1998, I thought why couldn’t something like that happen in my little sleepy hollow. So along with some other like minded individuals we put together the mis-appropriately named “Mid-West Florida Punk Fest”. It was held in conjunction with a the Youth Liberation Festival, which consisted of day long workshops that ran the gambit from Anarchist Theory to sprouting. Oh yes, the PC 90’s.

Over the span of 3 days we had between 200-300 people show up from as far and wide as Canada to California. We raised over $1200 that was put towards opening a youth run info center that actually opened and ran for under a year called the “Atari Info Shop”.

The fest itself was a pretty stellar line-up:

Dystopia, Reversal of Man, Man Cake (2/3 Frodus), Darkest Hour, Majority Rule, Discount, The Spirit of Versailles, Anthem 88, Engine Down, Portrait, Trepan Nation, Asshole Parade, As Friends Rust, Scrotum Grinder, Jiyuna, Jane LeCroy (Spook Engine, Vitapup), Runn-A-mucks, Tomorrow, Dave Deporis, and many others.

These videos were taken by one of the Spirit of Versailles guys and I figured were lost to the hands of time. My old chum, Chet Loggins, http://clogginsart.blogspot.com/ was able to resurrect my limping VHS tape and committ it to interweb immortality. Oh sweet nostalgia.

Some new import jams for the distro:

Quest of Quasar {Nok-tur-nal} Cassette
Grinding Halt {Discography} Cassette
Michael Crafter {Southeast Asia Tape} Cassette
Family Man {Southeast Asia Tape} Cassette
Atomgevitter {Southeast Asia Tape} Cassette
Fanzui Xiangfa/SS20 {split} 7”

These offerings should be up in the distro later today. Support worldwide HC/Punk!

In other news, the You Suck! tape is now out of print. However, you should still be able to find some kicking around in various distros including:

In Europe, Party Wound Distro: http://partywoundreallydontgiveafuck.tumblr.com/
In Asia, Bullwhip Records: http://bullwhiprecs.blogspot.com/
In the U.S., IFB Records: http://www.ifbrecords.com/

Also, ex-You Suckers, Let it Die’s U.S. demo should be finished in the next few weeks. It will be very, very, very, very, very….limited, due to some exciting reasons I can’t divulge at this time. All I can say is that I have a feeling you’ll be hearing a lot more from these kids in the near future.

A few new arrivals in the distro:

Sandy City {Surfin’ WA} 12”

Human Hands {s/t} 7”

Gods and Queens {Untitled #2} 12”

Gods and Queens {Untitled #3} 7”

Raein {Ah, As if..} CD

La Quiete {2006-2009} CD

In other news, I’ve got 2 cassette projects in the works. First is a full-length from Portland’s Carrion Spring entitled A Short History of Decay. CS had one monster of track on the 4-way split 8” that came out last year. I’m pleased to be laying this beast down on magnetic tape. This will be a co-release with my ongoing partner in crime Bear Records.

Secondly, I’ll be releasing a U.S. Version of Let it Die’s demo. Let it Die is x-You Suck!, and as I’ve mentioned a previous post, play pretty ruthless hardcore/punk in the vein of the Swarm and Cursed (I also hear a little Ottawa at times).

Hopefully, they’ll both be seeing the light of day soon. It’s all the art that I’m waiting on.

Lastly, a former Asthma Atttaq alum’s band MeteorEYES is about to embark on tour. Those on the East Coast should definitely support. You’ll be treated to a damn good ass-shaking time.

The remnants of You Suck! have a new band called Let it Die. They have a demo available for download (pay what you want) on bandcamp, www.letitdie.bandcamp.com

It’s an unrelenting, nasty little demo that should appeal to fans of brutal, fast as fuck hardcore/punk.

I updated the distro today….a mix of new items and some old gems. I also added descriptions to just about everything.
